PALM BEACH COUNTY ENGINEERING & PUBLIC WORKS ROAD CLOSURES IN THE CITY

• 45^th Street from Haverhill Road to Military Trail: FPL Underground Utility work. Periodic eastbound right lane closure, westbound right lane closure. Periodic northbound left turn lane closure on North Military Trail.
• North Australian Avenue from 25^th Street to 200 feet north of 25^th Street: Periodic northbound right lane and west bound right lane closures for driveway removals and installation.
• Summit Boulevard and Parker Avenue: FPL Utility Work. Periodic eastbound left turn lane closure and northbound right lane closure on Parker Avenue.
• South Australian Avenue south of Mercer Avenue and Old Okeechobee Road: Periodic nighttime double northbound right lane closures. Northbound right turn lane closure for drainage installation.

FLORIDA DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) ROAD CLOSURES IN THE CITY OF WPB 

State Road (S.R.) 9/I-95 Ramps Safety Improvement Project

• Projects Limits: This 0.902-mile project on the S.R. 9/I-95 on-ramp from eastbound S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, began on January 20, 2026.
• Improvements consist of installing a high friction surface on all ramps to improve vehicle safety, upgrading to new LED lighting and replacing the existing guardrail for the northbound S.R. 9/I-95 on-ramp from eastbound S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard to enhance vehicle safety.
• Impacts:
  • Closure will begin at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, until 6 a.m. the following day.
  • Crews may require Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24, 2026, as contingency dates to finalize the work. Please be advised, this schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
• Detour: Continue east on S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, make a U-turn at Parker Avenue onto westbound S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, and access the ramp to northbound S.R. 9/I-95.

   

  State Road (SR) 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction Project (through late 2029)

• Project Limits: 3.142-mile project in the cities of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach began on March 18, 2024.
• Improvements consist of widening SR 710/Beeline Highway from Northlake Boulevard to SR 708/Blue Heron Boulevard from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, replacing and widening the Florida’s Turnpike bridge over SR 710/Beeline Highway, constructing an at-grade partial Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of SR 710/Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard, adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of SR 710/Beeline Highway, upgrading railroad crossings, drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings throughout project limits, and upgrading Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
• State Road (SR) 710/Beeline Highway from SR 708/Blue Heron to Northlake Boulevard will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• SR 710/Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• SR 710/Beeline Highway and Jog Road will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• SR 710/Beeline Highway and Haverhill Road will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• SR 710/Beeline Highway from Military Trail to Blue Heron Boulevard will have one lane closed in each direction, daily, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• SR 710/Beeline Highway Lane widths are reduced and westbound traffic has been shifted to the median from just east of the Turnpike to Blue Heron Boulevard to safely facilitate construction activities.
• The SR 710/Beeline Highway northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Boulevard has been temporarily closed to safely facilitate this phase of construction and is anticipated to reopen in Fall 2025. During this closure, motorists can continue on SR 710/Beeline Highway and turn right at the light to access eastbound Northlake Boulevard.

   

  S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project (through Late 2026)

• Project Limits: This 1.044-mile project on S.R. 5/U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of Okeechobee Boulevard in the city of West Palm Beach is scheduled to begin in April 2026. Project Improvements consist of minor reconstruction, and milling and resurfacing the roadway throughout the project limits of S.R. 5/U.S. 1 from Belvedere Road to south of S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard to enhance infrastructure resilience and safety for the community; reconstructing curb ramps to meet ADA criteria and replacing portions of the existing sidewalk to improve pedestrian safety, connectivity, and use; upgrading signing and pavement markings to enhance visibility and safety; replacing drainage structures within driveways; adding a new signalized mid-block crosswalk north of Vallette Way; upgrading pedestrian signalization at Belvedere Road and Flamingo Drive and the crosswalk north of Cranesnest Way; installing overhead flashing beacons within the school zone north and south of Flamingo Drive; and upgrading lighting to LED fixtures and installing a new light at Flamingo Drive.
• All lanes currently open.

   

  S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project (Early 2026)

• Project Limits: This 0.608-mile project on State Road (S.R.) 704/Okeechobee Boulevard from Red Trail to west of Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach began on January 29, 2025. Work includes milling, repaving, and restriping the existing roadway within the project limits to ensure long-term infrastructure resilience and safety, upgrading pedestrian signals and lighting to LED fixtures at existing crosswalks to enhance pedestrian safety, replacing in-road sensors and traffic signal backplates to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for motorists, installing Wrong Way Driving Detection Systems (WWDS) at the S.R. 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps to S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard to enhance motorist safety by detecting wrong-way drivers and preventing serious injury crashes on the State Highway System.

• Currie Park Boat Docks and Ramps (2400 North Flagler Drive): Ramps are closed until spring 2027.
• Lake Mangonia Park Boat Ramps (2957 North Australian Avenue): Ramps are open daily, from sunrise to sunset. 
• Clematis Street Docks (South Clematis Street at South Flagler Drive): Docks closed from March 8, 2026 to April 6, 2026
• Fern Street Dock (Fern Street at South Flagler Drive): Docks closed from March 8, 2026 to April 6, 2026.
