West Palm Beach Announces Vegetation Amnesty Days April 27 – May 8, 2026
Preparing West Palm Beach for Hurricane Season with Vegetation Amnesty Days

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (April 2, 2026) The City of West Palm Beach is preparing for hurricane season by offering Vegetation Amnesty Days from April 27 to May 8, 2026. During this time, residents can dispose of vegetative waste at no additional cost, as the service charge will be waived.

Residents can place an unlimited amount of vegetative waste curbside for pickup on their regularly scheduled yard waste pickup day. This includes grass clippings, leaves, trees, shrubbery cuttings or trimmings, and broken or cut tree limbs and logs.

This initiative supports a comprehensive, citywide cleanup ahead of hurricane season. Properly removing landscape debris helps keep storm drains clear and reduces the risk of flooding during summer storms and hurricanes.

To participate in Vegetation Amnesty Days, residents should adhere to the following guidelines for yard/bulk waste disposal:

  • Place waste at curbside no earlier than the day preceding the scheduled collection day.

  • Consolidate waste into a single pile.

  • Bag grass cuttings, small trimmings, and leaves in plastic bags.

  • Cut tree limbs and branches into lengths no longer than 4 feet.

  • Cut tree trunks and stumps into sections no longer than 4 feet and no larger than 12 inches in diameter.

  • Do not mix yard waste with any other type of debris.

Vegetation Amnesty Days do not apply to commercial properties or landscape contractors.
