"This week we celebrated the official ribbon cutting of The Spruce — a project that represents opportunity, partnership, and our continued commitment to making West Palm Beach a city where people can afford to live, work, and build a future.
Thank you to our City Commissioners for their continued support and shared vision for a more inclusive and dynamic West Palm Beach — and to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for its continued investment in Northwood Village — one of West Palm Beach’s most vibrant, artistic, and distinctive neighborhoods.
And thank you to Affiliated Development, Jeff Burns, Nick Rojo, and the entire team who helped bring this vision to life.
This project is another strong example of what is possible when the private sector, the City, the CRA, and Palm Beach County come together with a shared purpose.
Building on the success of The Grand, this partnership continues our momentum in creating high-quality workforce housing right here in our community. Because workforce housing is not just about units — it is about people. It is about teachers, healthcare workers, hospitality employees, first responders, and young professionals having the ability to live in the City they help move forward every single day.
Together, The Spruce and The Grand are bringing nearly 600 new units to West Palm Beach — including more than 300 workforce housing units made possible through strong partnerships with the City and County. These developments are helping ensure the people who power our City every day have the opportunity to live where they work and serve.

Mayor Keith A. James Appoints New LGBTQ+ Liaison for the City of West Palm Beach
As we kick off Pride Month here in our City this week, we are pleased to announce that Mayor Keith A. James has appointed Jade Greene, Director of Housing and Community Development for the City of West Palm Beach, as the City’s LGBTQ+ Liaison, a volunteer role that serves as a bridge between the City and the LGBTQ+ community.
In Jade's new role as LGBTQ+ Liaison, she will help strengthen communication, build relationships, and ensure residents and organizations are connected with City resources.
“I am honored to serve as the City’s LGBTQ+ Liaison,” said Greene. “I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside community members to strengthen relationships, advance inclusion, and help ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging in West Palm Beach.”
West Palm Beach has been a leader in LGBTQ+ equality for more than two decades and continues to champion policies and initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
