West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Meeting Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (June 9, 2026) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, June 8, 2026.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Approved a resolution authorizing grants of $5,000 for participants who successfully complete the Mayor’s Jumpstart Academy.

CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution providing appropriations in the amount of $100,000 to the Office of the City Attorney for legal services.

A public hearing and ordinance granting a non-exclusive franchise to the Florida Public Utilities Company for a period of 30 years to sell, distribute, transport and transmit natural, manufactured, or mixed gas in the City of West Palm Beach was postponed to a future meeting..  

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved an ordinance after a first public hearing amending the Code of Ordinances at Chapter 22 (Businesses and Business Regulations), Article II, Certificate of Use, to clarify that a Certificate of Use is required for all business and commercial uses; approved an ordinance after a second public hearing regarding the rezoning of approximately 5.38 acres located at 2001 South Dixie Highway from General Commercial (GC) to Commercial Planned Development (CPD); and a resolution approving the establishment of the development regulations and conditions for the Greene School Commercial Planned Development.

ENGINEERING – Approved two companion resolutions, the first accepting a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the Fern Street Crossing Project in the amount of $3,000,000 and approving a State-Funded Grant Agreement; and the companion resolution providing the appropriation of the funding and transfers to contribute to the City's match.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Approved a resolution approving an agreement between Motorola Solutions Inc. and the City of West Palm Beach for public safety video surveillance services, software, and related equipment.

Below is a complete list of approvals and decisions made at the Monday, June 8, 2026, Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting.

Approved a resolution appropriating funds for the Currie Park splash pad, low-voltage system and FF&E procurement.

A resolution authorizing the CRA to lease property at 610 23rd Street, Unit A, to Bianca Whitehouse was removed from the agenda.

Approved a resolution authorizing the sale and conveyance of real property located at 907 7th Street, West Palm Beach, Florida to Alisha Winn for the amount of $235,000.

A resolution approving a Second Amendment to the Agreement for Lease and Purchase and Sale of 314 Clematis Street with 314 Clematis Owners LLC.

Approved a resolution approving a Relocation and Development Assistance Incentive Program Grant for 212 Bagel LLC in an amount not to exceed $67,642 and authorizing the chair to execute a Relocation and Development Assistance Incentive Program Grant Agreement with 212 Bagel LLC.
