The West Palm Beach Police Department is proud to announce that Sgt. Joseph Myers has graduated from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Florida Leadership Academy, Group 63, further strengthening the department's commitment to developing the next generation of law enforcement leaders.
The Florida Leadership Academy is a nationally recognized leadership development program designed to prepare first-line supervisors for the evolving challenges of policing. Through four week-long sessions, participants enhance their leadership, communication, accountability, and professionalism while building the skills needed to lead their agencies and serve their communities effectively.
Sgt. Myers joins a growing number of West Palm Beach Police Department supervisors who have completed the academy, reinforcing the department's investment in professional development and organizational excellence.
Deputy Chief Tony Shearer said, "Leadership development is one of the most important investments we can make in our organization. The sergeant's rank is key to our department functioning at a best-practice standard. Sgt. Myers' graduation from the Florida Leadership Academy reflects his commitment to professional growth and strengthens our ability to serve the community with excellence."
The Florida Leadership Academy is administered by the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute and equips criminal justice supervisors with practical leadership strategies, ethical decision-making skills, and the tools to mentor and develop future leaders within their organizations.
