West Palm Beach Police Explorers Earn Top Honors at Statewide Competition

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 30, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department is proud to recognize the accomplishments of its Police Explorer Post 148 members who earned top placements during the 2026 Florida Association of Police Explorers (F.A.P.E.) State Competition in Tampa, Florida.

Explorer Sergeant Andrae Morales earned second place in the Physical Agility Test, while Explorer Julian DeJesus earned third place in the Shooting Competition, TYRO Division.

The 2026 state competition was held June 21-27 and brought together 37 Explorer Posts and more than 800 Explorers from across Florida. Participants competed in law enforcement-related skills, training exercises and leadership activities designed to prepare young adults for future opportunities in public safety.

F.A.P.E. is a youth leadership program established in 1971 that provides individuals ages 14-21 with hands-on experience, education and mentorship within the law enforcement profession. The program emphasizes leadership, community service, and professional development.
