City Hall, the Mandel Public Library, and the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Regular trash collection will continue on a normal schedule. All City services will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 12, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department responded to a home invasion robbery at around 11:20 a.m. along the 600 block of 50th Street.
The suspect entered the residence, and the resident returned home and discovered the individual inside. During the encounter, the suspect assaulted the resident before fleeing with items taken from the home. Bystanders pursued the suspect and recovered a duffel bag containing the stolen property.
Responding officers established a perimeter, and a K9 officer and detectives tracked the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Zieare Peavy, to the 600 block of 47th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Peavy was transported to the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center. He is facing charges of robbery and home invasion pursuant to Florida Statutes 812.135(2)(c) and 784.08(1), (2)(b).
