This item is being brought forward following direction from the City Commission during a March 23, 2026 Mayor/Commission Work Session. Other Fire Service Assessment rates would remain unchanged.
West Palm Beach City Hall, the Mandel Public Library and the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of federal Juneteenth National Independence Day. Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and the Mandel Public Library reopens at 9:30 a.m. City Hall will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 7, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on March 10, 2026, around 8:10 p.m.
Investigators have identified Kelly Anne Jacobson, 40, as a person of interest. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with short blond hair. She has a large mole on the right side of her nose.
Jacobson is known to work in the marine industry and frequent marinas in Riviera Beach and Palm Beach Gardens.
