WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 13, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department arrested a woman after investigators determined a reported kidnapping along the 1200 block of North Dixie Highway was fabricated.
Officers responded shortly before midnight on May 12 to an area hospital regarding a reported kidnapping. Jessica Marie Meacham told officers she had been kidnapped by two unknown men at a business along North Dixie Highway.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage but were unable to corroborate Meacham’s claims or place her vehicle at the location she reported.
During a follow-up interview, Meacham admitted she fabricated the allegations because she was afraid of going to jail.
Meacham was charged with false reports to law enforcement authorities, a third-degree felony under Florida Statute 837.05(2).
