This item is being brought forward following direction from the City Commission during a March 23, 2026 Mayor/Commission Work Session. Other Fire Service Assessment rates would remain unchanged.
West Palm Beach City Hall, the Mandel Public Library and the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of federal Juneteenth National Independence Day. Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and the Mandel Public Library reopens at 9:30 a.m. City Hall will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 15, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying an elderly woman who was found June 12 near Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and North Dixie Highway.
The woman was located at approximately 8 a.m. and appeared to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or another cognitive impairment. She was unable to provide her address or identify any family members.
She is described as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing between 125 and 145 pounds, with black braided hair. She was wearing a black dress and black high-top sneakers.
Anyone who recognizes the woman or has information about her identity is asked to contact the West Palm Beach Police Department at 561-822-1900 and reference case number 20260008885.
