WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 26, 2026) — Community Service Aide Kyle Alvord of the West Palm Beach Police Department was recognized at the 40th Annual Traffic Safety Awards for his contributions to the department's Traffic Division.
Alvord joined the West Palm Beach Police Department in February 2024 and handles more than 1,000 traffic crashes annually while responding to hundreds of additional calls for service.
He has worked to improve operations within the unit by advocating for enhanced equipment, expanded assignments, and additional training opportunities. During the past year, he also volunteered to assist with traffic homicide investigations and earned his Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, allowing him to support the department's drone program.
Despite experiencing a significant personal loss this year, Alvord continued to serve with dedication and professionalism. His efforts have made him a valued member of the Traffic Division and the West Palm Beach Police Department.
