West Palm Beach Police Major Earns Executive Leadership Certification

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 10, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department announces that Major Emily Wiggs has graduated from Session 99 of the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), completing the nationally recognized executive leadership program in June 2026.

SMIP is a three-week executive development program that prepares senior law enforcement leaders to address the complex challenges facing modern policing. The curriculum focuses on leadership, organizational management, strategic planning, public policy, communications, budgeting, organizational change, and other executive-level topics.

The program brings together senior police executives from across the country for intensive instruction led by university faculty, experienced law enforcement leaders, and private-sector experts. Through case studies, collaborative discussions, and practical exercises, participants strengthen their leadership skills and explore innovative approaches to managing public safety organizations.
