Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan
The City of West Palm Beach is developing a Safety Action Plan through the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. The goal is simple: eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries through a proactive, data-driven approach to transportation safety.
The Safety Action Plan directly supports the Parking & Mobility Administration's Strategic Plan, specifically Goal 3: Make Safety, Cleanliness, and Maintenance Highly Visible and Consistent. The project establishes a roadmap to achieve the City's Vision Zero commitment by identifying where severe crashes occur, prioritizing investments, and implementing policies and projects that make safety improvements visible throughout the community.
The Safety Action Plan supports the City's adopted Vision Zero policy, which recognizes that while people make mistakes, no one should lose their life traveling in West Palm Beach. The plan will identify policies, programs, and infrastructure improvements that make it safer for everyone, whether they are walking, biking, taking transit, or driving.
The Safety Assessment Plan is still being finalized and has not been approved. However, you can download our Safety Action Plan(PDF, 3MB).
