Grand Opening of Styx Promenade
We were proud to celebrate the successful grand opening of the Styx Promenade in the Historic Northwest this month! On Friday, August 1, 2025, the community came together to mark this long-anticipated milestone with an evening of celebration, including SIX ribbon-cutting ceremonies for all minority owned businesses. Led by the CRA, the Styx Promenade project is part of a broader effort to revitalize the Historic Northwest District and honor its rich African American heritage, featuring the introduction of new Shotgun-style structures on 7th Street. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the new businesses that have officially opened their doors: A Better Way Home Care, Camile's Flowers & Gifts, Eat'n Cake, Wild Rose Wine & Daiquiri Bar, Rohi's Readery, and Serene Beauty Salon (coming soon). Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this event a memorable success.

Currie Park Construction Update
Exciting progress is underway at Currie Park as construction continues to move forward with great momentum. The old seawall and dock have been fully demolished to make room for a brand-new waterfront experience and large stones are being placed to help protect the shoreline from erosion. A major milestone was reached at the restaurant pavilion: after completing all underground work, the concrete slab was poured on August 3. Please note, the boat ramp and park will be closed after Labor Day—alternative launch sites will be shared on the City of West Palm Beach website. The tennis courts will remain open for the time being. The revitalization of Currie Park is well underway, and we’re thrilled to see it taking shape!
Currie Park Activation Online Survey
We have extended our survey to be open until the end of summer!
The online survey will be presenting ideas for park programming and the Currie Park Restaurant. The survey will allow you to provide valuable input on how the restaurant and events can best serve the community.
Our survey is now available in multiple languages! Languages include Creole, English, and Spanish. Share with your friends and neighbors!
Keep in mind, if you have joined previous Currie Park Outreach meetings or completed online survey, repeated participation is not required.

Save the Date | Historic Northwest Community
We’re excited to announce that our final community meeting of the year will take place at the highly anticipated Sunset Lounge—just as all furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) are scheduled for completion. This special gathering will offer the Historic Northwest community an exclusive first look at the renovations before any scheduled events. We invite you to join us for our quarterly community meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Sunset Lounge. This meeting will continue the discussions from our August meeting, which was unfortunately cut short due to weather, and we appreciate your understanding.
For those interested in diving deeper into the budget and strategic finance plan, we encourage you to attend our Board Meeting on Monday, September 2, 2025 or reach out to the CRA at cra@wpb.org.
As always, the November community meeting will include important updates from the Police Department, Public Works, Sanitation, and other departments serving the Historic Northwest. We will open RSVPs in September to gather an accurate headcount and update resident contact information. We look forward to seeing you there!
