The City of West Palm Beach has constructed the Clear Lake Trail & Shoreline Enhancement Project. The project consists of a 5300 foot long and 8-foot-wide multi-use trail on the western edge of Clear Lake, a 700 foot boardwalk connecting the proposed trail to Okeechobee Blvd and limited shoreline enhancements on the west side of the lake. The trail and boardwalk will provide a continuous connection for bicyclists and pedestrians from Palm Beach Lakes Blvd. to Okeechobee Blvd.
The project is part of the City's Bicycle Master Plan and Downtown Mobility Plan, with the goals of continuing to provide safer, more sustainable transportation throughout the city, enhancing bicycle and pedestrian connectivity to the Downtown, and improving the quality of life for the City's residents.
The project will connect neighborhoods and will create a biking and trail walking experience along the shoreline of the City of West Palm Beach's Clear Lake.
The project is largely funded through a federal bicycle and pedestrian transportation grant that the City obtained through the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA).
