The City of WPB has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for approximately 300 water customers following a water main break on May 19 in the area west of Parker Avenue, between Summit Boulevard and Southern Boulevard.While repair work is being completed, north and southbound traffic on Parker Ave is closed between Selkirk Street and Summit Boulevard. Drivers should use Lake Ave.
City Hall, the Mandel Public Library and the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day. Regular trash and garbage pickup services will be provided on a regular schedule. City Hall and Grassy Waters will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27; the library will open at 9:30 a.m.
The City of West Palm Beach Public Utilities Department is conducting a test of the wastewater collection system. A smoke, harmless to humans, plants and animals, is being introduced into the lines to determine if there are any leaks. 49th Street between North Flagler Drive and Greenwood Avenue.
This section of 49th St serves as a connector road between North Flagler Drive and Greenwood Avenue.
This section of the road was identified as part of the WPB Citywide Bicycle Masterplan and recommended to be treated as a Bike Boulevard.
The pavement within this section of the road shows block cracking due to aging asphalt.
The project proposes the construction of ADA compliant ramps and sidewalk connection as well as the installation of traffic calming devices such as speed humps, and improvements to the existing roundabout at Pinewood Ave and 49th Street.
Bike lanes are proposed to be installed between Greenwood Avenue and Broadway Avenue, while bike shared markings are proposed within the segment of Broadway Avenue and North Flagler Drive.
Additional improvements include milling and resurfacing and updated signs and striping.
