The City of West Palm Beach is preparing for hurricane season by offering Vegetation Amnesty Days from April 27 to May 8, 2026. During this time, residents can dispose of vegetative waste at no additional cost, as the service charge will be waived. This includes grass clippings, leaves, trees, shrubbery cuttings or trimmings, and broken or cut tree limbs and logs. Residential property ONLY.
49th Street between North Flagler Drive and Greenwood Avenue.
This section of 49th St serves as a connector road between North Flagler Drive and Greenwood Avenue.
This section of the road was identified as part of the WPB Citywide Bicycle Masterplan and recommended to be treated as a Bike Boulevard.
The pavement within this section of the road shows block cracking due to aging asphalt.
The project proposes the construction of ADA compliant ramps and sidewalk connection as well as the installation of traffic calming devices such as speed humps, and improvements to the existing roundabout at Pinewood Ave and 49th Street.
Bike lanes are proposed to be installed between Greenwood Avenue and Broadway Avenue, while bike shared markings are proposed within the segment of Broadway Avenue and North Flagler Drive.
Additional improvements include milling and resurfacing and updated signs and striping.
