Event Guidelines

4TH ON FLAGLER EVENT GUIDELINES

To help make 4th on Flagler safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone, please review the following guidelines before attending.

 

Seating
Guests are welcome to bring folding lawn chairs and blankets for seating 

Sun and weather protection
Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, small umbrellas, shade coverings, and ponchos are recommended.

Comfortable walking shoes
Guests should be prepared for walking and standing throughout the event area.

Payment method
Food, beverages, merchandise, and other items will be available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring a credit/debit card, cash, or other accepted payment method.


Prohibited Items

-Personal fireworks, sparklers, or explosives of any kind
-Marijuana, cannabis products, illegal drugs, or illegal substances
-Outside alcoholic beverages
-Glass containers
-Hard coolers
-Open flames
-Laser Pointers
-Drones
-Professional audio/video recording equipment, unless approved in advance
-Any item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by event staff or public safety personnel


Pets

For their safety and comfort, pets are strongly encouraged to remain at home. Fireworks, crowds, heat, and loud sounds can be stressful or harmful to animals. Guests who bring dogs should ensure they are leashed, under control at all times, and protected from loud noise during the fireworks show. Service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable law.


Accessibility and Sensory Advisory

The fireworks show will include laser lighting effects. Guests who may be sensitive to flashing lights, strobe effects, laser effects, or sudden loud sounds are encouraged to plan accordingly. This may include viewing the show from a greater distance, using protective eyewear or ear protection, or leaving the immediate show area before the fireworks and laser display begins.

Guests with accessibility questions or accommodation needs may contact the City in advance for additional information.


Safety Screening

For the safety and comfort of all attendees, all guests and bags are subject to search. Individuals in possession of prohibited items may be directed to remove the item from the event area or leave the event site.


Guest Conduct

Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward other attendees, event staff, vendors, performers, and public safety personnel. Unruly, disruptive, unsafe, or threatening behavior may result in removal from the event.


Children and Minors

Minors must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older and should remain with their party at all times.


Personal Property

The City is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.


Event Changes

City events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather, public safety concerns, or other circumstances.

Important Boater Notice

 

City docks will be closed to all boats and pedestrians on Saturday, July 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. For the safety of event attendees and boaters, docking will not be permitted at City docks during the event. Boaters planning to view the show from the waterway should make alternate plans before heading downtown, must anchor at least 150 feet from the seawall or marina in accordance with F.S.S. 327.4109, and at least 500 feet from the fireworks barge, per the City Fire Marshal.
