Currie Park Boat Ramps and Parking Lot to Close Sept 2 for Renovations

Published on August 25, 2025

Beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the City of West Palm Beach will close the boat ramps and parking lot at Currie Park to begin extensive renovations as part of the $35.5 million Currie Park Redevelopment Project. The redesigned park and new boat ramp facilities are expected to reopen in spring 2027, weather permitting.

1400 in 8 Early in 2024, Mayor Keith A. James announced an ambitious plan to create 1400 affordable, workforce homes by the send of his second term as Mayor. This was the third time he set the bar. In 2021, he set it at 300-in-3 years. In 2023, he challenged developers to create 600-units in 3 years. After exceeding 600 units. he raised the bar to 1400-in-8 years.
